Bi-Directional Amplifier Solutions

We can help enhance emergency communication throughout every level of your facility with bi-directional amplifiers that boost in-building radio frequency signal coverage.

Reliable BDA Solutions

In many buildings, radio signals can be obstructed by concrete, glass, metal, RF interference, and other building structures. During an emergency, first responders, such as law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMS, cannot afford to lose communication or operate around dead spots. Bi-Directional Amplifiers boost RF signals in both directions, helping to ensure reliable communication channels and facilitating emergency response protocols that can save lives and protect your property.

Emergency Communication Requirements and Services

ERCES are required by International Building Code (IBC) and International Fire Code (IFC), and they are specified in NFPA:

  • NFPA 1221 Section 9.6 (2016 & 2019 edition) and NFPA 72 Section 24.5.2 (2010, 2013, 2016 & 2019 edition) dictate that radio coverage shall be provided with 99 percent floor area coverage in critical areas and 90 percent floor area radio coverage in general building areas.
  • NFPA 1225 Chapter 18 (2022 edition) dictates that radio coverage shall be provided with 99 percent floor area coverage in critical areas and 95 percent floor area radio coverage in general building areas.
  • IFC Section 510 (2018, 2015, 2012, 2009 edition) dictates that all new and existing buildings shall have approved radio coverage for emergency responders based upon the existing coverage levels.

Everon’s fire and life safety experts can help you implement an ERCES solution that helps to keep your facilities in compliance with your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
